About the role
As a Principal Product Consultant - Facets Technical, you will make an impact by leading complex product consulting engagements and designing scalable Facets-based solutions for healthcare payer organizations. You will be a valued member of the consulting team and work collaboratively with clients, product management, business analysts, developers, testers, and operations teams to optimize healthcare platforms, improve operational efficiency, and support regulatory compliance. This role combines deep Facets expertise with strategic consulting to drive successful implementations and business outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Lead product consulting engagements by analyzing client business processes and aligning them with Facets capabilities to deliver scalable payer solutions.
Facilitate requirements workshops with clients and internal stakeholders, translating business needs into clear configuration, integration, and technical solution specifications.
Provide guidance on Facets architecture, modules, data structures, and batch processes to support claims, enrollment, billing, and provider management functions.
Partner with engineering and configuration teams to validate solution designs and ensure alignment with performance, security, and compliance requirements.
Drive issue resolution activities through root cause analysis, defect investigation, and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
Support data migration and conversion efforts by defining mapping rules, validation processes, and reconciliation strategies to ensure data integrity.
Evaluate client environments to identify configuration gaps, performance bottlenecks, and process inefficiencies, recommending targeted improvements.
Collaborate with product management to identify enhancement opportunities based on client feedback, market trends, and regulatory changes.
Facilitate knowledge-transfer sessions and develop documentation that promotes best practices and strong operational adoption.
Provide project planning support through effort estimation, risk identification, dependency management, and implementation guidance.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful testing, validation, and production deployment of Facets solutions.
Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and contributing to internal frameworks, accelerators, and consulting best practices.

What you need to have to be considered
Extensive hands-on experience with Facets Technical, including configuration, integrations, data structures, and batch processing across complex payer implementations.
Strong knowledge of healthcare payer operations, including claims processing, eligibility, enrollment, benefits management, provider data, and utilization management.
Proven experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into functional and technical specifications.
Expertise troubleshooting Facets-related issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective long-term solutions.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the full solution delivery lifecycle.
Familiarity with healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, audit readiness, and reporting standards.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills with the ability to influence technical and business audiences.
Ability to provide implementation guidance, effort estimates, risk assessments, and delivery recommendations for complex initiatives.

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $141K - $160K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
