About the role

We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team!
What you'll do here:

  • Design and develop end-to-end AI solutions to tackle real business cases.
  • Lead the exploration, implementation, and testing of new NLP solutions.
  • Transform complex and unstructured data into actionable insights and outcomes.
  • Use analytics to understand software usage patterns and give recommendations on improvements
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, developers, designers, in a cross-functional team to build software in AWS.
  • Act as a technical lead and reference for data science team.
  • Coach and mentor junior members of the team
  • Lead and enforce data science best practices: coding, peer-review, experimentation and testing.

What you bring to the table:

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (computer science, mathematics, AI, engineering, or a related field), or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data science applications and product development, with a strong focus on NLP and machine learning.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) - integrating with APIs and evaluation techniques.
  • Experience with developing, deploying, and maintaining software in cloud environments (strong preference for AWS).
  • Multi-platform production experience with the following: Python, GitHub, AWS, and CI/CD tools.
  • Expert-level understanding of the underlying theory of machine learning.
  • Can focus on vaguely defined issues requiring the application of a creative approach.
  • Ability to collaborate with others and to coach junior members of staff.
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork.
  • Strong communication, time management and work organization skills.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
