Accounting Specialist
Starting Pay: $50,353.41 / year
Schedule: Full-time, Exempt
Location: Hybrid eligible after 90 days
Certified Spanish or Somali proficiency may qualify for additional pay.
What You'll Do
As an Accounting Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial integrity of First Alliance Credit Union. You'll work behind the scenes to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and smooth daily accounting operations-helping the organization make informed decisions and stay compliant.
In this role, you will:
  • Analyze & Reconcile - Prepare journal entries, perform complex reconciliations, and ensure general ledger accuracy.
  • Report & Support - Assist with financial reporting, audits, NCUA call reports, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review & Improve - Identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities to strengthen processes and controls.
  • Coordinate & Collaborate - Partner with the Accounting Manager and team to keep workflows on track and meet deadlines.
  • Guide & Share Knowledge - Serve as a technical resource, supporting team members with training, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Process & Maintain - Handle wires, investments, and accounting system updates with precision and care.
