As a Senior Lead Project Engineer in our Power Conversion Systems (PCS) group, you'll be at the heart of the energy transition, leading technical execution for cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable integration, and data center applications. This role offers the chance to work on high-impact projects that span remote microgrids, grid-scale storage, and commercial energy systems.
You'll be the technical anchor for projects of medium to high complexity, guiding design, engineering, and delivery from concept to commissioning. How You'll Make an Impact
  • Lead technical execution of BESS and renewable energy projects hand-in-hand with project management
  • Review and approve design deliverables and project documentation.
  • Define control system narratives and SCADA configurations for energy applications.
  • Support proposal development and respond to RFIs and RFPs.
  • Collaborate with supply chain to evaluate and approve technical solutions.
  • Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Interface with customers to deliver tailored engineering solutions.
  • Share technical knowledge and support internal training and testing.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience in power systems, energy storage, or power electronics; or
  • Master's degree in engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and automation protocols (Modbus, DNP).
  • Strong technical aptitude in electrical engineering and industrial software.
  • Familiarity with renewable and thermal generation technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
