Senior BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) Engineer
Location: FL
Position Type: Direct Hire
Role Summary: We are seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design and integration of utility-scale battery storage solutions. This role is critical in stabilizing power for the next generation of AI data centers. You will be responsible for the technical lifecycle of energy storage systems, ensuring they meet the high-density power demands and rapid discharge requirements of hyperscale facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and engineer large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including containerized solutions and DC-coupled architectures.
    Perform complex electrical modeling to ensure BESS integration optimizes frequency regulation and peak shaving for high-load AI training environments.
    Select and validate battery chemistries, inverters (PCS), and thermal management systems to maximize safety and cycle life.
    Lead onsite commissioning, performance testing, and troubleshooting of battery racks and power conversion systems.
    Collaborate with grid interconnection teams to ensure compliance with local Florida utility standards and NERC/FERC regulations.

Required Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
