Seeking a C&I Application Engineer with extensive knowledge of BESS will work within R&D group, closely aligned withtech support, marketing and sales to provide a constant flow of application knowledge to best serve current and future customers of Sol-Ark. Ideal candidate will work to disseminate and synthesize customer requirements to aid in system design for various customer applications. The selected person shall be an expert with a sound understanding of evolving trends of customer expectations and technological advancements.
Responsibilities:
  • Support for Technical Sales: Assist sales/FAE teams with technical questions, site assessments, and system design in large projects.
  • System Design and Engineering: Support EPC contractors in designing and engineering commercial and industrial solar systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with product and R&D teams to develop and improve solar products and services.
  • Product Test: Conduct a variety of tests of HV inverters, BESS, and produce detailed reports.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and education to application engineering, technical support, sales/FAE teams, customers, and partners on solar products and technologies.
  • Industry Research: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations, applying this knowledge to improve business operations.
  • Market knowledge: Ideal candidate shall have an in depth understanding of emerging application areas to apply renewable energy.
  • Customer Support: Assist the technical support team in addressing complex customer inquiries and resolving technical issues.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to drive business growth.
  • Codes and Regulatory: Stay updated on codes and regulatory changes to advise the company on compliance and business opportunities.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent the company as a solar expert, presenting at industry events and contributing to industry publications.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems or power electronics from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial and/or residential solar energy combined.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the testing and product support of solar and/or energy storage technologies.
  • Familiarity with evaluating products for compliance with UL 1741, IEEE 1547, UL 9540, UL 9540A and including NEC Knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of Modbus RTU and Canbus protocol is highly preferable.
  • Preferred Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., NABCEP).
  • Strong technical knowledge of solar systems, design, and installation.
  • Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing industry conditions.
