What is a benefit in the context of employment?

In employment, benefits refer to non-wage compensation provided to employees in addition to their regular salary or wages. These can include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, and other perks. Benefits are designed to support the well-being of employees and can play a significant role in job satisfaction and retention.
