GENERAL PURPOSE

The primary responsibility is to assist in converting functional requirements of Herman Miller product into a technical design concept and structure using rules within an object-oriented configuration system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Apply configuration standards that result in accurate, timely and easily understood models.
  • Assist in technical design required to convert the engineering and manufacturing requirements for product configuration into rules within an object- oriented configuration system.
  • Construct and maintain models using rules in an object-oriented configuration system Coordinate activities with related product database functions.
  • Supports the New Product Commercialization process, through various departments and product development to implement rule changes on new and existing products.
  • Will be given the responsibility to manage medium scale modeling projects.
  • Work with marketing, engineering and manufacturing to structure configuration models of Herman Miller product offering and related information.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field (computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years as an associate configuration modeler or equivalent experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with rules with and object-oriented configuration systems.
  • Clear understanding of engineering data and documentation requirements in a engineering and manufacturing environment. Knowledge of blueprints, item masters, bill of materials, routings and marketing databases.
  • Understanding of Engineering Change Management systems and manufacturing systems.
  • Well-developed conceptual, analytical and communication skills. Must be a resourceful problem solver.

Compensation range for this role is $70,400.00 - $88,000.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors . You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive and equity awards which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
