Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Associate Attorney
Locations: New York, Pittsburgh, Boston, or Atlanta (Remote Flexibility Available)

Direct Counsel is seeking an Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Associate to join a global Am Law firm with a highly regarded and collaborative benefits practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level associate to work alongside an experienced team advising on a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including in the context of sophisticated corporate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on executive compensation arrangements and employee benefit plans

  • Support M&A transactions with benefits and compensation-related due diligence and structuring

  • Work on qualified retirement plans and health & welfare benefit programs

  • Draft, review, and analyze plan documents, agreements, and disclosures

  • Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, tax, and employment practice groups

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • 1-6 years of experience with executive compensation, employee benefits, and M&A-related benefits work

  • Familiarity with qualified plans and health & welfare plans

  • Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction (or eligibility to waive in)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $225,000 to $365,000, depending on experience and location
