The Assistant Nurse Manager leads by example - supporting the Nurse Manager in overseeing patient care and ensuring our mission is reflected in every aspect of their role, from staffing and scheduling to budgeting and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Provides support and managerial assistance to the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily unit operations, including:

    • Staffing and scheduling

    • Orientation and onboarding

    • Education and competency assessment

    • Budget monitoring

    • Establishing and maintaining patient care standards

    • Promoting evidence-based practice

    • Implementing quality improvement initiatives

  • Acts as a key resource and backup support for unit staff and departmental operations

  • Facilitates departmental workflow in collaboration with the Charge Nurse

  • Serves as the primary resource for staff and the organization in the Manager's absence

  • Reports directly to the Nurse Manager and assists in overall department management

Qualifications

Education:

  • Academic degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) required.
  • MSN/MN preferred.ย 

Experience:

  • Relevant clinical nursing experience at proficient to expert level of practice required with two years supervisory, leadership, or charge nurse experience in health care.

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operations, including staffing, scheduling, productivity management, workflow planning and staff development.
  • Proficient in use of PC-based computer software including Microsoft Office applications.
Licensure
  • Current applicable state RN license required.
  • Current BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.
