Job description

Slitter Operator

Bema, Incorporated a recognized leader in the flexible packaging industry is looking for an experienced Slitting Operator for Second Shift (4PM-2:30A) with a proven track record in supporting a fast-paced organization. Bema encourages innovation from its associates, employs the latest technology and has aggressive expansion plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to set up and run slitter.
  • Read work orders and follow instructions accurately.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensuring high quality output of product.
  • Meet production goals as related to run rates and waste.
  • Ability to do basic math calculations.
  • Communicate clearly both verbally and written.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Meet and exceed set quality standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ experience
  • Physically demanding position: long periods standing, bending, squatting, reaching and pulling. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Overtime
  • Helps ensure all policies for the company and the American Institute of Baking (AIB) are followed.

Salary for this position is based on, among other things, a candidate’s experience and qualifications. Bema offers a competitive compensation package including salary, bonus plan, paid time off, 401K and comprehensive health and life insurance options.
