Job Description & Core Responsibilities

Department: Resort Front Desk

Reports To: Resort Front Desk Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Grade: Tipped Grade 2

Starting Wage: $11.23 - $14.04

Gaming Class: Non-Compact/Non-Gaming

Position Summary:

The Bell person provides exceptional service to guests by assisting with luggage by curbside loading and unloading, opening the door, greeting, welcoming guests as they arrive, and ensuring a welcoming and pleasant experience at Fortune Bay Resort Casino. This role involves performing a variety of tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the resort, including offering resort information, keeping entry way clean, and maintaining a professional appearance at all times.

Core Duties And Responsibilities:

The Bell Person is responsible for the following duties:

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist guests with luggage.
  • Provide guests with information about the resort’s amenities and services.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly lobby and entrance area.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, complaints, and requests with an emphasis on customer service and satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the bell cart is properly stocked and in good condition for use.
  • Assist with the departure process, including the handling of luggage.
  • Maintain knowledge of local events and attractions to provide guests with useful recommendations

Qualifications – Education and Experience:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and carry luggage: frequently up to 50 lbs. and periodically up to 75 lbs. with team lift.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a resort, hotel, or casino setting is a plus.
  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and requires overall good mental and physical health.

Physical Demands:

Job-specific abilities and requirements include:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage, boxes, and other items as required.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to push or pull a luggage cart weighing up to 150 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions when assisting with valet services or transporting luggage outside.
  • The Bell person may be required to move or adjust furniture or other items within the resort when necessary.

Preference:

It is the policy of the Bois Forte Band, pursuant to tribal and federal law, to give preference to qualified Native Americans in hiring, promotion, and departmental transfers. Preference will be extended to members of the Bois Forte Band, members of other federally recognized tribes and to status Natives born in Canada.
