Overview
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Bai Lab in the Basic Sciences Division has an opening for a Summer 2026, fixed-term, paid research intern to work part-time in a laboratory that uses C. elegans as a model system to understand the basic mechanisms underlying the brain's ability to produce sensation, perception, and behavior.
Responsibilities
Duties include assisting the lab with general laboratory duties such as making culture dishes for growing C. elegans and bacteria, as well as other assigned duties to support the research program.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a relevant scientific field.
  • Candidates should be organized and work well with others.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
