DESCRIPTION:
Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Data Scientist III and contribute to global healthcare and scientific innovation. You'll apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques to solve complex business challenges across our enterprise. In our collaborative environment, you'll develop and deploy sophisticated data science solutions that drive operational efficiencies and enhance decision-making capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies while contributing to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in data science and machine learning
• Preferred Fields of Study: Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
• Advanced proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data analysis and modeling
• Expertise in machine learning frameworks including scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data technologies (Spark, Databricks)
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and dashboard development
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, experimental design, and hypothesis testing
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business problems into analytical solutions
• Experience with ETL processes and data pipeline development
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and version control systems (Git)
• Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning preferred
• Domain knowledge in life sciences, healthcare, or clinical research valued
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent project management and organizational abilities
• Willingness to stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $95,900.00–$127,800.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
