ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Logistics Center in Glasgow, Delaware.

This position is full-time (40 hours weekly, 8-hour shifts) that works day/evening rotating shifts. Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, you will perform assigned duties in support of the Department of Pharmacy Services with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and patient safety.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fill 24-hour cart fill through PillPick
  • Replenish Swisslog Automated Inventory Management Systems including PillPick
  • Receive and check incoming supplier order(s)
  • Perform floor stock billing to ensure patients are billed accurately and timely
  • Perform repackaging/prepackaging to maintain PAR levels
  • Process and fill office practice orders and package for delivery
  • Update expiration dates and inventory levels of stock medication
  • Safely and effectively use automated devices including KitCheck, Medication Carousels and Swisslog Automated Inventory Management Systems including BoxPicker and PillPick, Automated Dispensing Cabinets, computers, scanners, printers, copiers, fax machines and other technology as required
  • Use appropriate PPE for handling chemotherapy medications and other hazardous agents
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required unless enrolled in a PharmD program
  • Applicants enrolled or graduate of a 4-year bachelor program in the following health science majors are encourage to apply and will be required PTCB certification in 1 year of employment: Applied Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Biology, Chemistry, Exercise Science, Health Behavior Science, Human Physiology, Medical Diagnostics, Medical Diagnostics Pre-PA, Medical Laboratory Science, Nutrition, Nutrition and Dietetics, Nutrition and Medical Sciences, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant or Sports Health.
  • Computer experience preferred (e.g., window-based programs)
