Job description

A Mental Health Professional (MHP) will provide evidence-based assessments of a therapeutic service to individuals, couples, and/or families experiencing emotional, psychological, or behavioral challenges. The MHP will bring clinical expertise, cultural competence, and a commitment to client-centered care in support of our mission to promote mental wellness and resilience. ย The MHP will perform this work with a multidisciplinary healthcare and social care team within integrated care settings, collaborative care settings, and mental health settings.ย 

This position Requires Licensure in Mental Health, Psychology and/or Social Work.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed therapeutic environmentย 
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulationsย 
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, care coordinators, peer support specialists, and other members of the interdisciplinary teamย 
  • Will practice behavioral health care in a community mental health setting and be flexible with frame of appointments set by operations team and leadershipย 
  • Complete brief clinical interventions as appropriate, including Warm-Hand Offs from primary care within the behavioral health integration model frameworkย 
  • Complete initial behavioral health assessment and safety risk assessment/triageย 
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessmentsย ย ย 
  • Complete diagnostic recommendations based on DSM-5 criteriaย 
  • Provide level of care assessments and recommendations based on assessmentย 
  • Monitor client progress using subjective assessment and objective metrics, develop and review treatment plans/care plan goals as needed, and facilitate referrals for additional servicesย 
  • Teach/engage patients, families, and staff on care, prevention, and treatment enhancement techniques.ย 
  • Provide individual, group, couples, and/or family therapy using evidence-based approachesย 
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards to include competency with billing documentationย 
  • Show full competence in utilizing the EHR and other tele-health platforms after completion of orientation trainingย 
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision, case consultation, and continuing educationย 
  • Will strive for quality metrics and productivity targets set by leadership. Will also participate in quality improvement by escalating challenges and solutions in current location of work.ย 
  • Follow policies and procedures set forth by the administration as applicableย 
  • Stay current with developments in clinical best practices and licensing requirements.ย 
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups and community outreach programs as needed.ย 
  • Attend required meetings set forth by the supervisorย 
  • Other duties as defined by managementย

Hours and locations may change based upon business needs or unforeseen emergency situations.ย  Availability for coverage outside of set schedule if needed.ย  May be required to perform emergency duties including but not limited to; working in Red Cross Shelters, and responding to man-made or natural responses to threats or disasters, among others. Additionally, incumbents are required to perform emergency response and management duties for Palm Beach Countyย  ย Will be cross-trained/scheduled to work in the Clinic, on the phone, and/or on a mobile crisis outside of your primary duties. Master's degree in Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field required.

Experience:ย 

Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and evidence-based treatment modalitiesย 

Competency of electronic health records (EHR) systems and referral platformsย 

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsย 

Bilingual or multilingual abilityย 

Competence in working with diverse populations and cultural backgroundsย 

Specialized training in CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma-informed care, play therapy, CAP, qualified supervisor, or other modalitiesย 

Experience in specific settings (e.g., schools, inpatient, telehealth, substance use

Certification:

Current Florida state licensure or registered as an LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LPCC, or equivalent (Associate-level licenses may be considered with supervision)ย 

BLS (Basic Life Support) ย from American Heart Association Required
