Job description

Job Description We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a rapidly scaling renewable energy developer with operations in Canada and the United States. As CEO, you will develop and lead multi-year strategic business plans to grow and scale operations and expand into new markets. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Growth Develop and execute a multi-year strategic business plan to scale the company from $20M to $50M+ in revenue Drive expansion into BESS alongside core solar development activities Identify and execute growth opportunities across existing and new markets Lead capital allocation decisions and support future fundraising and exit strategies Operational Excellence Oversee day-to-day operations across North America (Canada & the US) Implement scalable systems, processes, and organizational structures to support growth Introduce and deploy new software solutions, including AI-driven tools, to enhance productivity and efficiency Strengthen project execution capabilities across solar and storage development Financial Leadership Enhance financial reporting capabilities, transitioning from local GAAP toward IFRS standards Drive financial discipline, forecasting accuracy, and performance tracking Partner closely with finance teams and the Board on budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning Governance & Board Management Lead quarterly Board meetings and maintain strong communication with shareholders Ensure alignment between management and Board on strategy, performance, and risk Support the transitioning CEO in their new Board role to ensure continuity Compliance & Risk Management Implement robust compliance frameworks, policies, and quality systems Safeguard company processes and minimize operational and governance risks Foster a transparent, performance-driven culture while limiting internal politics Team & Culture Build, lead, and scale a high-performing executive team Drive accountability, collaboration, and a results-oriented culture Attract and retain top talent across all regions Qualifications Proven CEO or senior executive experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or a related sector Demonstrated track record of scaling a business through a high-growth phase Prior experience leading a company through an exit (e.g., sale, IPO, or major transaction) strongly preferred Experience in solar development required; BESS experience strongly preferred International leadership experience across North America is highly desirable Strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability Deep financial acumen, including experience with IFRS or complex reporting environments Experience implementing systems, digital tools, and enterprise solutions Excellent stakeholder management, including Board and investor relations Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and align teams
