What You’ll Do as a Medical Assistant:
Primary duties:
  • Assist in coordinating care in the Elkhart Outpatient department.
  • Will administer medications, phlebotomy services, precautions monitoring and pain reassessments.
  • Will work interdependently with other health care professionals to provide quality health care to clients.
  • Knows the organization’s and department's goals.
  • Is sensitive to the interrelationships of both people and functions within the department.
  • Will follow Meaningful Use measures.
  • May also be required to provide injections, test blood glucose and/or draw blood for lab tests.
  • Interacts directly with clients and families.
  • Interacts frequently with physicians, and other center employees involved in the case.
  • The frequency varies with needs, availability of client, and directives from clinician working with the patient and treatment plan.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Certification or Registration adjustment
  • Associate of Applied Science degree from a CAAHEP or AMT-accredited program preferred.
  • 1-2 years of clinical or community experience recommended.
