Anticipated Start Date: October 2026
We are seeking a qualified candidate who is available to begin in October 2026.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Psychology or Applied Behavior Analysis, or Social Work.
  2. Hold licensure as a Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP), Licensed Psychologist (LP), or a practicing Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a Behavior Analyst license from the state of Michigan.
  3. Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing psychotherapy and/or behavioral treatment services. Equivalent combinations of education and professional experience that demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered on an individual basis.
  4. Possession of a valid Michigan motor vehicle operator or chauffeur's license and current automobile insurance, when driving is an essential function of the position.
  5. Demonstrated ability to conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA).
  6. Working knowledge of co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use disorders), the Stages of Change (Transtheoretical Model), Phases of Recovery, and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
  7. Computer proficiency, including demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  8. Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

Essential Job function:
The Behavioral Health Clinician - BTPRC Lead role integrates clinical knowledge with system-level coordination and compliance oversight responsibilities. This position supports the Behavioral Treatment Plan Review Committee (BTPRC) and Health and Safety Review Committee (HSRC) by ensuring that behavior treatment plans, restrictive interventions, and related supports meet all Medicaid, MDHHS, HCBS, and contractual requirements.
The BTPRC Lead plays a key role in facilitating multidisciplinary review processes, bringing together clinical staff, medical providers, care coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure thorough, consistent evaluation of services. This includes coordination with individuals served, families, guardians, and internal and external partners to support transparency and person-centered care.
Core responsibilities include organizing and facilitating committee reviews, maintaining accurate and compliant documentation, monitoring timelines, and tracking recommendations through to resolution. The position also ensures that identified risks, conditions, and action items are addressed in a timely manner, promoting quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance across programs while supporting positive outcomes for individuals served.
  • Conduct screenings for co-occurring disorders and accurately recognize diagnostic criteria related to substance use disorders, including abuse and dependency.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and provide appropriate support to individuals experiencing trauma-related concerns.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and analyses of individuals' functional abilities, as well as emotional, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other significant information in agency case records.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review presenting concerns, collaborate on solutions, and support coordinated care planning.
  • Ensure all documentation and records comply with Medicaid requirements, Department of Community Health regulations, and Easterseals MORC policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid Provider Manual guidelines and other applicable regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma informed care.
  • Willingness to support and assist individuals with trauma related issues
  • Ensure BTPRC and HSCR meetings are scheduled in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Develop, organize, and distribute agendas for all BTPRC and HSCR meetings.
  • Verify that meetings meet quorum requirements to support voting and decision-making.
  • Facilitate meetings by guiding discussion, soliciting relevant data, and ensuring all criteria for Behavior Treatment Plan (BTP) approval or continuation are met, including appropriate clinical rationale, elimination of alternative causes of behavior, evidence of prior less-restrictive interventions, review of behavioral data and incident reports, and consideration of medical or medication changes.
  • Support committee determinations regarding the continuation, modification, or discontinuation of behavior treatment plans.
  • Ensure accurate completion and timely upload of meeting minutes into the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure presenters complete required progress notes in the EMR following meetings.
  • Maintain current knowledge of BTPRC requirements set forth by the State of Michigan and all local PIHPs.
  • Provide oversight to the Behavior Supports Committee/BTPRC as directed by leadership.
  • Ensure Functional Analysis of Behavior (FAB) and Behavior Treatment Plans (BTPs) are completed prior to committee presentation.
  • Verify that required special consents are obtained in compliance with BTPRC technical requirements.
  • Ensure staff receive training on approved BTPs and that training is documented using the Universal IPOS Training Record form.
  • Confirm approved BTPs are uploaded into the Individual Plan of Service (IPOS).
  • Compile and submit required quarterly BTP data reports to MDHHS via Excel format and forward submissions to the PIHP.
  • Coordinate and facilitate expedited approval processes for behavior plans requiring authorization outside of scheduled BTPRC meetings due to emergent needs.
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance related to BTPRC processes, including interpretation of evolving requirements, participation in external webinars or trainings, and collaboration with OCHN and/or MDHHS representatives.
