Job description

Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is GROWING... and seeking more GREAT team members to help our patients on their journey of recovery. We are currently seeking experienced Mental Health Technicians for all shifts.

The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care to our patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders, and supports the therapeutic team to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients.

Monitor patients' activities and progress; communicating information regarding patients' behavior to other members of treatment team;

Maintains communication with patient, family members, and referral sources in patients' interest;

Co-facilitates educational and community groups within the context of the treatment program;

Encourages and facilitates patients' participation in therapeutic activities;

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required

  • Outstanding Customer Service skills required

  • Minimum one (1) year related experience preferred

  • Ability to work well in crisis situations

  • Use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration of compassion and respect for staff and patients

  • Ability to maintain information as highly confidential

  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervision in this regard.
