Autism Support Behavior Technician (BT RBT)
Become a Registered Behavior Technician and start a rewarding new position working with individuals with autism. Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) provide 1-on-1 care to children with autism through ABA behavior interventions. Behavior techs provide services in our clients clinics, family homes, and the community.

What is Autism?
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder, which manifests itself during the first three years of life and will last the entire life cycle. The fundamental symptoms of autism are 1) Persistent deficiencies in communication and social interaction and 2) Restrictive and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities.
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a branch of psychology that uses a scientific data-driven approach including behavioral procedures and techniques.
The goals of ABA are:
  • Reducing challenging behaviors
  • Increasing socially significant behaviors
  • Developing or improving activities of daily living (ADLs)
What does a Behavior Therapist do?
The Behavior Therapist will provide in-home one-to-one support for children & adolescents with Autism, or other developmental disabilities. After our intensive in-house training and under the support of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will have the tools and support necessary to implement programs, collect reliable data, and work with your supervisor to execute a plan specifically tailored to each child or adolescent.
As a trained ABA Behavior Therapist, you will:
  • Execute 1:1 behavior plans for children & adolescents with autism in their homes.
  • Provide the clients families with parent training to expand the clients advancement opportunities.
  • Receive ongoing support and supervision in the field from BCBA level staff.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with the client and their families.

What are the requirements?
  • Related work experience including but not limited to: babysitting, childcare, elementary education, teaching, classroom aid, paraprofessional, special education, early intervention, daycare, preschool, head start, camp counselor, teacher, pediatric healthcare professional, etc.
  • Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass an FBI/ DOJ clearance and background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a desire to work with young children with behavioral challenges.
  • Must be comfortable playing with children, including in front of others.
  • Must be physically able to sit, stand, walk, run, and quickly rotate between all in addition to lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have a desire for continued learning opportunities and a willingness to embrace instruction and feedback
  • Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is a plus
What else should you know about the position?
Hours of Operation:
  • Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
    • Up to 2 Saturdays a month required (with paid shift differential)
Scheduling:
  • Full-time employees: Must be available during all clinic operating hours.
  • Part-time employees: Hours will be set within the clinic operating hours accordingly.
