Qualifications:
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) trained or willingness to be trained.
Physical ability to perform CPI.
Physical ability to lift and transfer students
Experience with, or certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) preferred
Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude towards students.
- Ability to provide behavior support calmly and effectively.
- Ability to problem solve and adapt quickly in a changing environment.
- Work under the supervision of the building principal.
- Assist in implementing/monitoring behavior plans.
- Model appropriate behavioral interventions.
- Work with building support teams in the development and implementation of data collection, as well as assist with analysis and interpretation of the data results for the evaluation of student progress, interventions, and support.
- Assist classroom teachers with behavioral support.
- Maintain appropriate documentations, records, and reports.
- Provide appropriate supervision of lunchroom and playground maintaining safety and order.
- Must be physically capable of working with cafeteria tables and have no medical conditions precluding playground responsibilities.
- Able to model and coach effective conflict resolution and student supervision with colleagues.
Ability to adapt or modify plans and student work as needed for student support.
