Job Description:

The Porter / Make Ready Technician performs routine upkeep of the apartment community including buildings, amenities, and surrounding areas, ensuring a welcoming impression for residents, guests, and team members on-site. You will be expected to maintain the communities curb appeal while communicating effectively and professionally. It is expected that assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner and will likely require operating tools and equipment in accordance with safety and operations standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for meticulous upkeep and trash removal of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing office, parking lots, and community common areas.
  • Assist in the cleaning and preparation of units including trash removal from vacant apartments.
  • Complete weather preparation and clean up as needed.
  • Organize, maintain, and utilize provided supplies in a cost-effective manner.
  • Present an appearance appropriate to the image of the company.
  • Complete additional tasks or duties assigned by community leadership.


Qualifications:


Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of Porter experience preferred.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license is required.


Education:

  • High school education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Accurately perform basic mathematical functions


Computer Skills:

  • Beginner computer and Internet knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to use on-site resident management software preferred.


Physical Demands:

  • Physical demands may include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The team member will be regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach using feet, legs, back, arms and hands. The team member may occasionally be required to climb. Specific vision requirements include the ability to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The team member will be required to work at a personal computer. Must possess the ability to detect auditory and/or visual alarms and be available to work extended/flexible hours and weekends as needed.

Driver License Background Check:
Candidates must successfully pass a driver license background check as part of the hiring process to ensure that all employees who will be operating a company vehicle meet necessary safety standards.
