Job description


About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable person to join our team as a before school teacher.


Hours are anticipated to be approximately 6:30am - 8:30am. May have some flexibility, or additional hours if desired.


This role involves working primarily with school age children, assisting with providing breakfast, ensuring children’s safety getting on and off the school bus, and providing activities and supervision to foster their growth and development through various educational activities.


The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess skills in classroom management, teaching, and behavior management.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with providing breakfast daily
  • Foster an environment conducive to quiet activities such as art projects, games, and imaginative play.
  • Take children outside to the school bus.
  • Supervise and engage students during activities.
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment.
  • Provide support for students with special education needs, ensuring inclusivity.
  • Assist in organizing activities.
  • Monitor student behavior and implement appropriate behavior management strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students to foster a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Participate in training sessions related to first aid, childhood development, and early childhood education.

Requirements
  • Experience working with children in various settings such as child care, camp, or tutoring environments.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles is preferred.
  • First aid and CPR certification is required but can be obtained after hiring.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A genuine passion for childhood development and fostering positive relationships with students.
