The Margaret Chase Smith Elementary School has an anticipated opening for an experienced Special Educator to temporarily serve in the role of IEP Coordinator. The ideal candidate would have several years of experience in Special Education and a strong understanding of Special Education regulations for the State of Maine. Responsibilities include scheduling and serving as administrative designee at all lEP meetings for grades PK-4. The IEP Coordinator also works closely with Special Education teachers on lEP development/data collection and reviews all IEPs for final approval and leads professional development for IEP related tasks. The ideal candidate would also work collaboratively with the Special Ed and building administration and supporting in various meetings as appropriate. Effective communication and collaboration skills are a requirement. This is a one year position with 5 days before school starts and 5 days after school ends to prepare and finalize paperwork.
