Reports to: Principal
Employment Type: Part Time, M-F 7am - 8:15am (6.25 hours/week)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $22-$25 per hour, based on experience.

St. Kieran Catholic School is seeking a dependable, caring, and responsible individual to supervise students participating in our Before School Program. This position plays an important role in providing a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where students begin each school day with care and consistency. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates strong supervisory skills, and supports the mission and values of Catholic education.


Responsibilities:

  • Welcome students each morning with warmth and professionalism.
  • Supervise students in the school hall from 7:00 a.m. until the start of the school day.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment.
  • Ensure students follow school expectations and behavior guidelines.
  • Monitor student arrival and attendance as directed.
  • Facilitate quiet activities such as reading, homework, games, or other appropriate morning activities.
  • Communicate any concerns regarding student behavior, health, or safety to the principal or designated staff.
  • Ensure the hall is clean and organized before students transition to class.
  • Follow all diocesan and school safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:

Religious Qualifications:

  • Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
  • Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, recreation, or similar setting preferred.
  • Positive, patient, and caring demeanor.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise students independently while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of Diocese Safe Environment requirements.
  • Live Scan fingerprint clearance.
  • Mandated Reporter Training certification.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain if required).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and actively supervise children throughout the shift.
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
