Modern tapas, world-renowned Valencian paella, and overflowing hospitality in the heart of Downtown Ann Arbor.

Lead One of Ann Arbor's Premier Beverage Programs

At Aventura, we believe exceptional hospitality begins with passionate leaders. Inspired by the lively tapas bars of Spain, Aventura brings together bold flavors, handcrafted cocktails, thoughtfully curated wines, and warm hospitality to create memorable dining experiences. We are seeking a Bar Manager who is passionate about hospitality, beverage innovation, and developing exceptional teams.

This is more than a management position: it's an opportunity to shape one of Ann Arbor's most respected beverage programs while serving as a visible leader on the restaurant floor. You'll partner closely with the General Manager and leadership team to elevate the guest experience, mentor talented bartenders, and drive the continued evolution of Aventura's cocktail, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Leading management floor shifts and delivering exceptional hospitality throughout every service.
  • Hiring, coaching, and developing a high-performing bar team.
  • Creating and implementing seasonal cocktails and beverage features.
  • Managing liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverage inventory and ordering.
  • Monitoring beverage cost, inventory variance, and operational performance.
  • Building strong vendor relationships and sourcing new products.
  • Ensuring recipe consistency, beverage quality, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Partnering with the leadership team to continuously improve the guest experience and restaurant operations.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Leads with humility, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Has a genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Enjoys mentoring and developing others.
  • Brings creativity while understanding the operational side of beverage management.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
  • Communicates effectively and collaborates well with all areas of the restaurant.
  • Takes pride in organization, consistency, and attention to detail.

WHY WORK WITH US

  • Competitive pay.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with company contributions.
  • Company-sponsored short-term disability insurance.
  • Paid Time Off and Paid Sick Time.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within The Pulpo Group.
  • The opportunity to lead and shape one of Ann Arbor's premier beverage programs alongside an experienced hospitality leadership team.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of leadership experience within a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Beverage program leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Experience managing beverage inventory, ordering, cost controls, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable using restaurant POS systems, scheduling software, inventory platforms, and basic reporting tools.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Remain on feet for extended periods of time while actively managing dining room, bar, and service operations.
  • Move throughout all areas of the restaurant, including dining rooms, bar areas, service stations, storage areas, patios, and kitchen support spaces.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, including cases of liquor, beer, wine, glassware, and restaurant supplies.
  • Perform repetitive motions including typing, writing, using POS systems, handling glassware, and completing administrative work.
  • Work in a fast-paced hospitality environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, cleaning chemicals, and crowded service areas.
  • Safely navigate stairs, uneven surfaces, and tight spaces while maintaining awareness of guests, staff, and operational needs.
