West Side Beer Distributing is hiring for a Team Lead Merchandiser – Beer amp; Beverage (Wayne County)
Are you an experienced merchandiser who enjoys leading by example, coaching others, and delivering exceptional in-store execution?
West Side Beer Distributing is looking for a Team Lead Merchandiser to join our Merchandising Team. In this role, you'll lead and support a team of merchandisers, helping them succeed through onboarding, training, coaching, and day-to-day guidance. You'll also work closely with our Sales, Delivery, and Warehouse teams to ensure our products are displayed to the highest standards and our customers receive outstanding service.

Starting Pay: $20.75/hr.
Plus: Gas Card | $160/month auto allowance | Monthly phone reimbursement

As a Team Lead Merchandiser, you'll serve as a working leader who supports the daily success of our merchandising team. You'll onboard and train new associates, conduct ride-a-longs, provide coaching and feedback, assist with scheduling, and help ensure merchandising standards are consistently met across your assigned territory. This role combines leadership, training, merchandising, and customer service while working alongside multiple departments to support operational excellence and exceptional execution in the marketplace.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead and develop the merchandising team through onboarding, training, ride-a-longs, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback to ensure consistent execution and professional growth.
  • Manage daily merchandising operations by creating schedules, coordinating route coverage, approving timesheets, and supporting special projects, including chain resets and new product launches.
  • Drive exceptional in-store execution by ensuring products are stocked, rotated, displayed, and merchandised according to company, supplier, and customer standards.
  • Partner with Sales, Delivery, and Warehouse teams to communicate inventory needs, promotions, customer feedback, and operational opportunities while helping resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of performance and professionalism by reinforcing safety, company policies, merchandising best practices, and accurate completion of reports, training documentation, and performance tracking.

  • 5 days per week
  • 40–50 hours per week
  • Weekend availability required
  • Some holiday work required

  • One to two years of prior merchandising experience preferred
  • previous leadership, team lead, trainer, or supervisory experienced is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
  • Ability to lift and move beverage cases as part of daily work
  • Strong attention to detail and customer-service mindset
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and repetitive lifting throughout the workday.
  • Work in retail stores, coolers, stockrooms, and varying environmental conditions.
  • Drive throughout an assigned territory to support merchandising activities.
  • Maintain a professional appearance while representing West Side Beer Distributing.
