Airport Information: Duluth International Airport Duluth International Airport, situated in Duluth, Minnesota, lies approximately 155 miles from Cass Lake, MN, serving as a vital transportation hub for the region with both domestic and international flights. The airport provides convenient access to the picturesque landscapes of northern Minnesota and beyond. With modern facilities and amenities, including dining options, rental car services, and ample parking, travelers can expect a comfortable and efficient airport experience.

About the Facility: Cass Lake IHS The Cass Lake Indian Health Service Unit is owned and operated by the Federal Government as a Public Health Service, Indian Health Service Facility. The Service Unit has an active user population of 12,000 clients and provides over 200 full-time jobs in the community. The Service Unit operates a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and Outpatient Ambulatory Care Clinic that offers Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Audiology, Podiatry, and Optometry Services. Cass Lake also provides 24/7 access to Emergency Care services. The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe manages the Behavioral Health programs, Substance Abuse programs, a Diabetes Center and Public Health Nursing at six community based clinics on the reservation.

CT Tech - RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The CT Tech conducts all general imaging exams such as chest, head, abdominal, spine, and upper and lower extremities.
  • Perform all CT-related imaging examinations once in-house CT equipment is installed.
  • Independently perform standard imaging examinations with high accuracy in positioning and exposure.
  • Evaluate critical and emergency procedures, adjusting patient schedules as necessary to accommodate them.
  • Operate and maintain a fixed radiography unit, adhering to the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle during all imaging procedures.
  • The CT Tech conducts necessary quality control on radiography units, troubleshoot malfunctions, and report issues requiring external service to the Radiology Supervisor or Bio-Med.
  • Follow all written procedures and policies, including those related to technical operations, radiation safety, and infection control.
  • Participate in radiology proficiency testing, quality assurance programs, and hospital-wide continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate professional knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The CT Tech provides age-specific radiology services for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

CT Tech - REQUIREMENTS

  • Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (RT) and Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Shall have a minimum of one year of current work experience in specialized modality.
  • Must have current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
  • A current license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
