Job description

The Senior Manager, Beaker Laboratory ensures the smooth operation of laboratory information systems, optimizing workflows, and supporting laboratory staff to enhance overall efficiency and accuracy in clinical laboratory settings. Works closely with the Director of Ancillary Applications and technical teams in developing workflows and troubleshooting reported issues. Requires flexibility of schedules of working hours. Hours may be subject to change to support the application during upgrades and on call.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Computer Systems, or other related field.
  • Prior experience with Epic implementations and working in a clinical laboratory or with laboratory information systems, particularly Epic Beaker -- HIGHLY DESIRABLE
  • Working on medium to large size projects of 500-1000+ hours and proven ability to manage project or technical activities.
  • EPIC Beaker Certification (preferred)
  • Certificates in other Epic Outpatient Modules a plus
  • Knowledge of the client areas function and systems, technology alternatives, and ability to work effectively with client and IT management and staff
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and their impact on the technical aspects of a solution.
  • Ability to work in a complex multi-communication-channel environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member across multiple teams.
  • Ability to independently research and perform analysis to resolve complex issues.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and able to manage one's own work independently in a fast --paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Work PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing the Epic Anesthesia module.
  • Understanding of healthcare Information Technology systems and Electronic Health Records integration.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows and requirements specific to Laboratory.
