Hiring Locations: Must be based in the Columbia or Baltimore, MD markets (or surrounding areas)

Work Schedule: This is a hybrid position. 2 days in office in Columbia, MD (Tuesday & Wednesday) with 3 days working remotely.

Total Compensation: $55,000 base / $87,600 OTE Year 1 (uncapped commissions)

Position Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) identifies and qualifies leads, schedules product demos, and books meetings for our Account Executives through proactive outbound and inbound efforts. Using a modern sales tech stack, BDRs are accountable for consistent activity and opportunity generation. In addition to remote outreach, BDRs attend regional trade shows and industry events to generate leads and build brand awareness in person.

Success in this role requires a competitive drive, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads through calls, emails, and social selling tactics.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events in your region to generate leads and represent Leap in person
  • Deliver quick, impactful demos to showcase Leap’s value proposition.
  • Coordinate logistics for local event presence including booth setup, teardown, and on-site engagement.
  • Partner with Account Executives to ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Leap’s product, customer base, and competitive landscape.
  • Build rapport with contractors and decision-makers across the home improvement industry.
  • Consistently meet or exceed quarterly KPIs related to outreach and opportunity creation


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-2+ years of SDR/BDR or field sales experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or home service industry.
  • Experience attending trade shows or working in event-based sales environments.
  • A proactive, self-starter mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence handling objections, asking thoughtful questions, and adapting on the fly.
  • Familiarity with sales tools like HubSpot, Gong, or similar platforms.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally for regional events as needed.
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks like booth setup (lifting boxes, equipment, signage).
  • Experience in the home improvement, construction, or roofing industry is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
