Senior Director, BD Commercial Lead

Fermi LLC

Dallas, TX • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 6 days ago

Job description

Description:

Fermi America is executing a massive, multi-phased 17GW hyperscale data center and natural gas campus in Texas, representing one of the largest infrastructure projects of its kind globally. The Senior Director, BD Commercial Lead is the critical commercial engine for this project. As we transition from early development into active construction, this leader will own the customer relationship and deal lifecycle from initial conversation through signed agreement. You are not just selling space; you are architecting the high-value, long-term commercial partnerships that validate a multi-billion-dollar infrastructure program. Sitting at the intersection of commercial demand and delivery feasibility, you will transform the campuss technical potential into actionable revenue, while building the process and structure to lead the BD function as the organization scales.

What You'll Do
  • Build and manage relationships with customers and partners across the deal lifecycle.
  • Own and run a commercial pipeline of meaningful scale — from first contact through signed deal — with the discipline to track and report on it.
  • Lead negotiations on leases, letters of intent (LOIs), and commercial agreements.
  • Work closely with Commercial Operations to align deal structure with financial modeling and deal economics.
  • Coordinate with Customer Delivery (data center team) to ensure deals reflect real delivery constraints and timelines.
  • Represent the company publicly and commercially in front of customers, partners, and prospective counterparties — including industry events and press where relevant.
  • Build out the BD function's process, team, and operating cadence as the business scales.
Requirements:What We're Looking For
  • 15+ years in sales, business development, or commercial leadership, ideally with direct experience in data centers, colocation, or digital infrastructure — the profile of a CRO, CCO, EVP of Sales, or VP of Commercial Sales at a data center operator.
  • Track record of running and closing a large, complex commercial pipeline (e.g., managing hosting, colocation, or capacity deals at meaningful scale).
  • Track record of leading or closing complex commercial negotiations — leases, LOIs, or long-term customer agreements.
  • Experience leading a commercial or sales function, not just an individual deal book — able to eventually build and run a team.
  • Comfortable owning relationships with senior counterparts at customers and partners, and serving as a public face of the company.
  • Self-starter, comfortable operating with limited process in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
Nice to Have
  • Direct experience in data center, powered shell, or infrastructure commercial deals (e.g., prior CRO/CCO/EVP Sales role at a data center or colocation provider).
  • Existing network of hyperscale, enterprise, or infrastructure customer relationships relevant to the business.
  • Experience as a public-facing commercial spokesperson (conferences, press, thought leadership).
