Position Summary:

Bidwell Consulting Services (BCS), a Strongpoint partner, is seeking a Junior Compliance Administrator to join their Retirement Plan Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career retirement plan professional looking to expand their technical knowledge and grow within a collaborative, internal-facing environment.

Working alongside experienced Compliance Administrators and Consultants, you will assist with annual retirement plan compliance, testing, government reporting, and plan administration activities. This role offers hands-on training and exposure to a wide variety of qualified retirement plans while providing a strong foundation for long-term career growth in retirement plan compliance.

This is an internal-only role with no direct client management responsibilities and no assigned book of business.

PLEASE NOTE: This role is based out of the BCS office in Chico, CA and requires regular in-office attendance with the potential for an adjustment to a hybrid schedule long-term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with annual retirement plan administration and compliance services for qualified retirement plans.
  • Prepare and support compliance testing, including:
    • ADP/ACP Testing
    • IRC Section 415 Testing
    • IRC Section 414 Testing
    • Coverage Testing
    • Top Heavy Testing
  • Analyze participant census data and assist with employer contribution calculations.
  • Assist with plan asset reconciliation.
  • Review plan documents and amendments to understand plan provisions and ensure accurate administration.
  • Prepare Form 5500 filings under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Calculate lost earnings for late participant contributions when required.
  • Research retirement plan compliance questions and assist in resolving benefit and operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure work is completed timely and in accordance with IRS and ERISA requirements.
  • Collaborate with Compliance Administrators and Consultants to support retirement plans across the firm's client base.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of qualified retirement plans and retirement plan administration.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn new software and retirement plan regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of retirement plan administration, retirement plan compliance, or related experience.
  • Experience with retirement plan compliance testing or annual administration.
  • Experience using CalcAir (Datair) or similar retirement plan administration software.
  • Progress toward or interest in pursuing an ASPPA designation (QKA or other credential).
  • Experience working in a TPA or retirement plan consulting environment.

Pay Transparency Statement:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $40,000-$50,000 annually.

At Strongpoint Partners, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
