A BCBA Authorization Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing and managing the process of obtaining and maintaining authorizations for applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy services, typically provided by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). They work closely with insurance companies, clients, and clinical teams to ensure that all necessary paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and submitted on time. Their goal is to facilitate timely approval of services so clients can receive needed ABA interventions without unnecessary delays.

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities help you effectively coordinate between clinical teams, clients, and payers. These skills are crucial for ensuring timely service authorizations, maximizing reimbursement, and supporting the delivery of effective behavioral health services.

How does a BCBA Authorization Manager typically collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely service approvals?

A BCBA Authorization Manager plays a critical liaison role between clinical staff, such as BCBAs and RBTs, and administrative or billing departments. They review clinical documentation to ensure it meets payer requirements and coordinate with clinicians to gather necessary information for insurance authorizations.
