BBJ Group is a growing environmental consulting and engineering firm seeking a senior level environmental consultant for BBJ Group's Chicago Branch. Primary responsibilities include serving clients with various environmental engineering and consulting needs and fostering new business opportunities while continuing client relationships. This role offers numerous opportunities and responsibilities for a detail-oriented environmental professional.

Sample of responsibilities:

  • Project, staff, and budget management;
  • Mentoring junior project managers and staff consultants to effectively lead projects from technical and project management perspectives;
  • Working with clients in a wide variety of industries, including well-known global companies;
  • Domestic and international project locations.

What Kinds of Projects can I expect to work on?

At BBJ Group, we serve both private and public sector clients at project locations throughout the United States, as well as overseas. Senior-level consultants will specialize in Remediation, EHS/Regulatory Compliance, or Real Estate Transaction Support Practices:

  • Site Investigations/Closures;
  • Compliance Audits;
  • Risk Assessments;
  • Due Diligence - Environmental Site Assessments, Limited Environmental Compliance Reviews;
  • Storm water pollution prevention and management;
  • Spill prevention and regulatory compliance;
  • Remedial system design and implementation; and
  • Environmental, Health, and Safety audits.

Skills and Experience:

  • Eight or more years of consulting experience conducting and directing advanced projects in given practice area
  • M.S. in geology, environmental engineering, environmental science, chemistry, or equivalent preferred
  • Professional Certification (PE/PG/CHMM/CSP)
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work within a team setting and independently
  • Strong communication and technical writing, coupled with analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Flexibility to accommodate travel (25%) and a valid-driver's license
  • OSHA HAZWOPER training
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • AutoCAD, ArcGIS experience a plus
