Job description

Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group, the largest and most respected physician-led medical group in the Tampa Bay area, has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Board Certified Gastroenterologist for our brand-new Manatee HealthHub location - an innovative outpatient facility scheduled to open in Fall 2026, marking BayCare's expansion into this dynamic new market.  This 45,000 square-foot-facility will be housed on the campus of BayCare's newest hospital - BayCare Hospital Manatee, a 154-bed facility scheduled to open in 2028.

  • We are seeking two Gastroenterologists to see patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings. Candidates with experience and those proficient in ERCP are strongly preferred.
  • Introducing gastroenterology services ahead of the hospital opening provides valuable time to establish a presence in the community, develop referral relationships, and begin building trust in the quality of care associated with the BayCare brand. This early footprint will be critical to ensuring a strong patient base is in place by the time the hospital opens.
  • With onboarding a gastroenterologist ahead of the hospital's opening will allow sufficient time for integration into our clinical teams and the development of care pathways. This ensures that hospital-based gastroenterology coverage is in place from day one, with a fully aligned Gastroenterologist ready to support acute and consultative needs.
  • ER coverage frequency is expected to be 1:4.
  • The Manatee Health-Hub facility will house primary care and specialty services, in addition to ancillary lab and imaging services including 3T MRI, X-ray, CT, PET CT, mammography, DEXA and ultrasound.
Qualifications

Position requires:

- Board Certification by The American Board of Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology.
