Job description

The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Baya Bar to find qualified candidates for a Smoothie & Bowl Associate position in Staten Island, NY. Baya Bar is a fast-paced food and beverage company specializing in fresh smoothies, bowls, juices, and other healthy menu options. The company is committed to providing high-quality products and excellent customer service while creating a fun, energetic, and welcoming environment for both guests and employees.
 

The Smoothie & Bowl Associate is responsible for preparing Baya Bar’s smoothies, bowls, juices, and other menu items while providing excellent customer service. This role supports the daily operations of the restaurant by taking orders, processing payments, maintaining product quality, and keeping the work area clean and organized. The Associate works closely with the Baya Bar team to ensure fast, accurate, and friendly service while creating a positive experience for every customer.

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.


  • Prepare smoothies, bowls, juices, and other menu items according to Baya Bar standards and recipes.
  • Take customer orders and provide friendly, efficient, and professional service.
  • Operate the POS system and process customer payments accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation and service area.
  • Restock ingredients, supplies, cups, packaging, and other materials as needed.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations when handling and preparing food.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure accurate and timely orders.
  • Support daily restaurant operations and contribute to a positive, energetic, and team-oriented environment.

  • Previous experience in customer service, food service, hospitality, or retail preferred, but not required.
  • Food Handler’s Certificate/License preferred, but not required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare smoothies, bowls, juices, and other menu items accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to follow recipes, food preparation procedures, and food safety guidelines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple customer orders.
  • Ability to operate a POS system and process customer payments accurately.
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
