Job Summary

Microvast is seeking a highly skilled BMS Algorithm Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing advanced algorithms to solve complex problems in battery system. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of algorithm design, and experience in implementing scalable solutions.

The position is 5 days in office, located at our headquarters in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize safety related algorithms for battery system and battery management system.
  • Conduct research and apply state-of-the-art methodologies to improve system performance.
  • Work closely with software engineers and data scientists/engineers to integrate safety algorithms into battery and battery management systems.
  • Analyze and optimize the computational efficiency of algorithms to ensure scalability.
  • Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models to validate new ideas and approaches.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in algorithms and related technologies.
  • Document design decisions, processes, and performance metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with other business units and teams

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in algorithm design, data structures, and computational complexity.
  • Solid understanding of mathematical and statistical modeling techniques.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and optimization techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under challenging scenarios.
  • Creative thinking skills & Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate well with other members of the development team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and distributed computing frameworks
  • Proficient in Mandarin
