Job Summary

We are seeking aData Analytics Analyst Ito support the Operations Data Analytics team. This role will help onboard and maintain generation asset data for existing and future power generation projects, includingsolar, battery energy storage (BESS), gas generation, hydro modernization, retrofit, and environmental projects.

The position will work closely with project teams, plant personnel, and subject matter experts to collect, validate, organize, and maintain equipment and maintenance data withinMaximoand related systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support new and existing generation projects by developing and updating equipment hierarchies.
  • Create and review preventative maintenance activities, job plans, and inventory data.
  • Gather, validate, and analyze technical equipment data.
  • Maintain equipment information in accordance with Southern Companyโ€™sD-11 Equipment Identification and Description Standard.
  • Work with plant teams to develop accurate equipment systems and subsystem structures.
  • Promote data consistency and standardization across generating facilities.
  • Support maintenance strategy development for new and existing generation assets.
  • Perform daily analysis of technical and operational data.
  • Conduct like-unit comparisons, identify best practices, and apply lessons learned across the fleet.
  • Provide field support and perform generating plant equipment walkdowns as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1โ€“3 years of data analytics, data management, or related technical experience.
  • Experience accessing, integrating, analyzing, and reporting data from multiple sources.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
  • Must be comfortable working in generating plant environments and performing equipment walkdowns.
  • Must be willing to travel up50%.
