As a battery assembler, your primary responsibilities are to fill electrolyte or mercury dispensing devices to specific levels for commercially used batteries. You handle partial parts and pour them into the correlating bowl feeder on a conveyor belt. You work with heavy machinery and attach brackets and battery subassemblies to their proper location. Your laborer duties also require you to monitor the process, ensure all inserts are correct, dispense the specified amounts into the batteries, and watch that it fills accurately. In some battery assembler jobs, you may assist with the spot welding and packing of batteries. You are also in charge of reporting any malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
