DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Shipping and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing inventory replenishment, coordinating inbound and outbound freight, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role servs as a key link between customer service, the warehouse, suppliers, freight carriers, and logistics partners to ensure products are received, stored, and delivered accurately and on time.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Shipping & Logistics

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including parcel, LTL, FTL, and container freight.
  • Obtain freight quotes and transportation options to support customer and sales requirements.
  • Coordinate and schedule transportation with logistics providers.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve transportation delays, shortages, damages, and freight claims.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and provide shipping and delivery updates to internal teams.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and support inventory replenishment activities.
  • Create and manage purchase orders for stock replenishment.
  • Coordinate incoming inventory deliveries and receiving schedules.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Ensure inventory records are accurately maintained within company systems.
  • Analyze inventory levels, lead times, and demand trends to support just-in-time inventory management and minimize excess stock while maintaining product availability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate supplier readiness and support the successful introduction of new products.
  • Communicate inventory shortages, supplier delays, and other known supply risks to impacted teams.
  • Assist with inventory forecasting, demand planning, and replenishment strategies.

Warehouse & Operational Support

  • Partner closely with Customer Service and the Warehouse Manager to support daily operations.
  • Assist with receiving, inventory organization, and inventory control initiatives.
  • Support process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain strong communication between customer service, warehouse, shipping providers, and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain shipping, inventory, and purchasing procedures to support operational growth, consistency, and scalability.
  • Serve as the primary backup to the warehouse manager, helping ensure continuity of warehouse operations during any period of absence.
  • Utilize a forklift on occasion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent with 1 years of inventory management, logistics, shipping, warehouse operations, or supply chain coordination experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to be Forklift Certified.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of freight coordination, purchasing and inventory control practices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Rarely lift 50-70lbs
  • Properly wear PPE where required
  • Warehouse environment with fluctuating room temperatures
  • Performs most of the work through computer use and associated equipment, or via phone communication.
