Job description

Bloomfield Public Schools is accepting applications for the role of Winter Varsity Basketball Head Coach at Bloomfield High School.
Qualifications:

  • The coach must possess a valid First Aid certificate or secure one prior to the start of the season.
  • Coaches must possess a CSDE Connecticut Coaching Permit.
  • The coach should possess at least one year of high school or university level coaching experience as an assistant or head coach in the sport.
  • The coach must demonstrate experience and/or ability to supervise and direct assistant coaches and possible volunteers.
  • The coach must be able to provide articulation and direction to the sport from the freshman level through junior varsity to varsity.
  • The coach must possess the ability to work cooperatively within an education environment that emphasizes the successful psychological, social, and emotional development of its youth.
  • The coach must possess technical knowledge of the sport, athletic techniques and skills requisite to the sport, and methods and means to developing skills in young athletes.
  • The coach must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all the playing rules of the sport.
  • Coaches must possess the ability to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the appropriate job description (available upon request).
  • The coach must at all times represent the school on the highest professional level with dignity and integrity.
  • The coach must exhibit moral and ethical behavior, demonstrate dedication and loyalty to the school, the Athletic program, the Athletic Director, and other coaches.
