Basic Xray Machine Operator Jobs in Austin, TX (NOW HIRING)

This entry-level Machine Operator role offers the opportunity to work in the semiconductor industry on either 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) or 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.). You will support the production of gas weldments for gas panels by operating orbital welding and tube-cutting equipment in both cleanroom and non-cleanroom environments. The position combines hands-on machine operation, basic mechanical inspection, and print reading to ensure high-quality, precision components.

• Operate orbital welding machines to manufacture gas weldments for gas panels, including setting up small weldment pieces in the machine and initiating the automated weld cycle.
• Perform basic mechanical inspections on parts after they come off the machine to verify quality and adherence to specifications.
• Operate a saw (tube cutting) machine outside of the cleanroom to cut tubing to required lengths and tolerances.
• Set up, run, and monitor production machinery to ensure consistent, high-quality output and safe operation.
• Work within a cleanroom environment when required, following all cleanliness and contamination control procedures.
• Read and interpret prints and work orders to understand part requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Use measuring devices such as calipers and height gauges to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications.
• Perform or support Asymmetric Views Rolling, with training provided as needed, to meet specific product requirements.
• Apply mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools to assemble or handle components in a manner similar to using a hand welder or glue gun on stainless steel parts.
• Conduct quality inspections and document results as needed to support production and quality standards.
• Collaborate with a team in the weldments department to meet production goals and maintain a smooth workflow.
• Follow all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and company policies while working in both cleanroom and general production areas.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent manufacturing operations.
• Be flexible to support future schedule changes and occasional Saturday work when business needs require.

• At least 1 year of recent experience in a manufacturing role, preferably in machine operation or quality inspection.
• Demonstrated experience as a machine operator or mechanical quality inspector, or similar hands-on production role.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and the ability to clearly describe how you have used them.
• Ability to read prints or work orders to understand part specifications and instructions.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as calipers and height gauges for dimensional inspection.
• Comfort working in a cleanroom environment, including adherence to cleanroom protocols.
• Verified reliability and consistent work history.
• Willingness and ability to work either 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) or 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.), Monday–Friday, with flexibility for occasional Saturdays and future schedule changes.

• High school diploma or equivalent is ideal.
• Previous experience operating production machinery such as orbital welding equipment or tube-cutting saws.
• Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical inclination and comfort working with metal components, including processes similar to hand welding or bonding stainless steel parts.
• Willingness to learn Asymmetric Views Rolling and other specialized processes with on-the-job training.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a 10–15 person team in a weldments department.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

You will work in the weldments department alongside a team of approximately 10–15 people in a semiconductor manufacturing facility. The role involves time both inside a cleanroom and in general production areas. In the cleanroom, you will wear smocks and follow cleanliness protocols while operating orbital welding equipment and handling gas weldments. Outside the cleanroom, you will operate tube-cutting saws and perform inspections using tools such as calipers and height gauges. The standard schedule offers two shifts: 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, and 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with the expectation of flexibility for occasional Saturday work and potential future schedule adjustments. The environment is hands-on, production-focused, and oriented around precision, safety, and teamwork, with a 10% shift differential for 2nd shift and double time pay on Sundays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $23.50/hr.
