Job description

General Description:

Must be skilled in the assistance and help of deep foundation installation including, but not

limited to timber piles, concrete piles, sheet piles, drill shafts, auger cast, etc. Must also be

experienced in erecting, disassemble, and working with and around pile driving equipment. Must

also have basic rigging knowledge and perform general construction duties.

Essential Functions:

• Must assist craftsman in all essential Functions listed below.

• Must have a willingness to learn.

• Erect and dismantle lattice boom cranes

• Obtain necessary tools and components and the lay out of work

• Interpret hand signals in order to direct cranes for pile driving activities

• Must be able to follow instructions.

• The preparation, aligning, plumbing, setting, stressing, testing, pulling, welding, cutting

off and capping of piling of any type including steel pile and concrete pile and the

splicing, barking, heading and shoeing of piling and the rigging and signaling connected

with all of the above.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

• Perform physical labor that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving

your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of

materials at construction sites

• Act as a team led and mentor to less experienced laborers.

• Using safety gear and practicing safe work habits, per the company policy manual.

• Ability to rig equipment and material to be set into place.

• Ability to use tools and equipment necessary to complete the job task at hand.

• Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.)

Competencies:

• Ability to use math/complete calculations

• Ability to use tools and equipment necessary to complete the job task at hand.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Physical Demands:

Field/Jobsite Environment – Standing, climbing, crawling, standing, crouching, bending,

pushing/pulling, walking on uneven surfaces, and exposure to loud noises are to be expected

on a jobsite environment. This position is predominately outdoors at an Industrial Construction

Site. Exposure to extreme hot or cold outside temperatures is possible.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours:

This is a full-time, hourly position. Days and hours of work vary from each jobsite. Occasional

evening/weekend work or travel may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience:

• 2+ years of industrial field experience as a Pile Driver Helper

• Encouraged to hold NCCER Basic Rigger Certification or willing to test

Industry Related Requirements:

• Must hold a valid TWIC Card

• Must hold a valid OSHA Basic Plus

• Must be able to pass all Safety Council related courses

• Must undergo Pre-Employment Screening (physical, drug & alcohol screen, audiogram,

fit test if applicable)

• Must hold a valid Driver’s License to operate company equipment and/or vehicles
