Job Description

This position combines sit-down forklift operation with basic machine operation in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will safely load and unload pallets from truck trailers, operate a machine using a human interface to input dimensions from work orders, and support shipping, receiving, and inventory activities while following strict safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a sit-down forklift to safely load and unload pallets from inbound and outbound truck trailers.
  • Drive the forklift into trailers while ensuring proper dock alignment and trailer stability at all times.
  • Move, stage, and stack palletized materials in designated warehouse locations to support efficient material flow.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation such as bills of lading and packing lists, and promptly report any discrepancies.
  • Perform and document daily forklift inspections, and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety guidelines consistently to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, including docks, staging areas, and storage locations.
  • Operate a machine using a human interface, accurately entering dimensions and information from work orders.
  • Use a measuring tape and other basic tools to confirm dimensions and ensure accuracy in machine operations and material handling.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties such as wrapping pallets, staging orders, and performing light manual work as needed.
  • Support inventory-related tasks, including counting, organizing, and tracking materials with close attention to detail.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent warehouse and production operations.

Essential Skills

  • Recent, proven experience operating a sit-down forklift with daily use in previous roles.
  • Experience driving a sit-down forklift into truck trailers to load and unload pallets safely.
  • Ability to safely handle heavy, oversized, or high-volume palletized loads.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety practices, dock operations, and OSHA-aligned procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Basic communication skills with the ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, ideally gained in roles such as receiving, inventory, or similar positions.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour workweek without overtime on a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification within a defined timeframe.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse setting.
  • Experience in high-volume distribution or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience as a machine operator or in machine operating tasks.
  • Ability to use a measuring tape accurately for verifying dimensions.
  • Exposure to inventory control processes and basic inventory tracking.

Why Work Here?

You will join a stable operation that offers a consistent first-shift schedule, allowing you to maintain a predictable work-life balance with no required overtime. After 60 days, you become eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as bi-weekly mileage reimbursement and bi-weekly pay. The role provides a supportive environment where safety, reliability, and attention to detail are valued, giving you the opportunity to build and grow your skills in warehouse and machine operations.
