Job description

Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk provides general accounting and administrative support to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of financial information across multiple accounting functions. This role supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other core accounting processes as needed. The position is expected to follow company accounting policies and maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
Knife River is looking for a self-motivated individual who is eager to learn new skills and contribute to the success of our company as an Accounting Clerk.
We offer a full benefit package after 60 days, which includes full medical, dental, vision and 401K.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
3-7 years of related accounting or clerical experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High ethical and professional standards
Duties and Responsibilities:Perform a variety of accounting support tasks including data entry, processing, and verification of financial transactions
Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger support as needed
Review and process invoices, expense reports, and related documentation for accuracy and proper coding
Support account reconciliations and assist in resolving discrepancies
Assist with month-end close activities and reporting requirements
Maintain organized records and documentation in accordance with company policies
Respond to internal and external inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Provide general support to accounting team members and assist with process improvements
Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
