Job description

MPS Group, Inc., a leading provider of industrial cleaning and waste management services, is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator based in Oakville, ON. This individual is responsible for daily plant operations, monitoring, sampling, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment to ensure the facility meets all regulatory requirements.
Shift Details:
Shift: 2nd or 3rd Shift
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 a.m. / 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
Responsibilities and Job duties:
  • Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes, including pumps, tanks, chemical dosing systems, solids filtration systems, clarifiers, etc.
  • Perform routine inspections, sampling, and raw water analysis.
  • Conduct wastewater lab tests and interpret the results to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize chemical usage and overall system performance.
  • Complete daily logs, documentation, and regulatory records.
  • Conduct basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Communicate plant status and issues to supervisors.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year industry related experience.
  • Experience in industrial and municipal wastewater systems.
  • MECP Wastewater Operator Certification (OIT or higher).
  • Experience in municipal or industrial wastewater operations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to perform physical work in an industrial environment.
  • Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail (Excel, SCADA systems, etc.).
