Permanency Caseworker

Surrounding Greater Pittsburgh Counties 

Mostly daylight hours, with afterschool and evenings, occasional weekends

Our services include LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly); skilled nursing, home health; personal care; adoption & foster care; assisted living; adult day services; memory care; hospice; palliative care; residential living; affordable housing; home safety monitoring; Meals on Wheels; rehabilitation services and private duty.

Lutheran Service Society is a nonprofit human services provider with the mission to empower our neighbors to lead independent, dignified, and secure lives.  Programs include adoption and foster care, Meals on Wheels, senior centers and affordable housing.

The Permanency Caseworker is responsible for providing direct services & supervision for Adoption and Foster Services.  The Caseworker creates safe and supportive relationships with children and families, supports children's understanding of life circumstances, and supports permanency goals for both children and families through various capacities.

Qualifications

Permanency Caseworker requirments include:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required.
  • 3 years' experience in a related field.
  • Background and/or experience in child welfare, adoption, foster care, State Wide Adoption Network (SWAN) services, family services and child development a plus.
  • Assessments
  • Must have efficient and dependable transportation and the ability to visit clients in their homes; Valid PA Driver's License
  • Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
