Job description

Overview

Our Safety and Security Officers are the frontline of resort protection—patrolling Big Sky Resort-owned properties, responding to incidents, and ensuring the safety of our guests and employees. From hotels and restaurants to employee housing, this role covers it all. We’re looking for reliable, self-motivated individuals who are comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Shifts may include days, nights, or overnights depending on business needs.


Responsibilities

Picture yourself as a Safety and Security Officer at Big Sky Resort and having the opportunity to:

  • Maintain a visible presence by patrolling interior and exterior resort-owned properties using company vehicles and equipment
  • Provide security coverage during business and non-business hours, including overnight shifts
  • Respond promptly to any security or emergency incidents, including coordination with local emergency services as needed
  • Draft thorough incident and accident reports, and maintain accurate daily activity logs
  • Monitor resort activity using CCTV systems and identify safety or security concerns in real time
  • Assist with investigations, hazard identification, and other safety initiatives across departments
  • Support the Security Manager with ongoing safety and emergency preparedness projects
  • Uphold resort policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for both guests and employees

Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted and climb multiple flights of stairs throughout the shift

  • Must be able to stand and walk for 8 or more hours at a time

  • Current CPR certification and Montana State Guard Card are preferred

  • One year of experience in hospitality or a related field is strongly preferred

  • Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and professionalism

  • Must be comfortable working day, night, or overnight shifts as needed
