Job description

Join American Family Insurance as an Inside Sales Representative - Property & Casualty (Primarily Home) and build a sales career where you can grow, earn, and make a real difference for customers.
You will work warm inbound leads with no cold calling. You will use a consultative approach to match customers with the right protection and help them make informed insurance decisions.
You will receive strong hourly pay plus uncapped bonus potential and a portfolio of benefits that start day 1 as reward.
This position is responsible for quoting and selling insurance policy premiums to incoming sales prospects from advertising and purchased leads while providing excellent customer service to new and existing customers. You will be the knowledgeable voice customers rely on when they are shopping for coverage. You will turn interest into confidence by listening first, recommending the right options, and making it easy to buy.

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Work Model and Flexibility
  • Primarily remote with occasional in-person events such as team meetings, training, and culture activities.
  • Candidates must live within 100 miles of one of these office locations: Madison, WI; Green Bay, WI; Phoenix, AZ; Minneapolis, MN; Akron, OH; Las Vegas, NV; or St. Joseph, MO, Dallas, TX
  • Must be available to work a full-time schedule of 5 days a week.
  • After training new hire shifts will be evening shifts ending at 10:00pm CST Monday through Friday and ending at 7:00pm CST on Saturdays.
  • Schedule includes 1 in 3 Saturdays, with a weekday off when a Saturday is worked.
  • Internet speed and service must be maintained by the candidate and speeds must be a minimum of 100mbps download/10mbps upload.
Licensing and Training
  • You are required to have an active Property & Casualty Producer's License or Personal Lines License. It needs to be an active resident state license.
  • Our next training class is scheduled to start on November 16th, 2026
  • Virtual training extends over a period of 4 months. The hours for training are 9:00-5:30 CT.
  • We provide ongoing coaching, learning sessions, and resources to help you build confidence and sharpen your sales skills.
Pay and Incentives
  • Hourly pay of $25.00
  • Unlimited bonus/incentive potential.
  • Average monthly bonuses at $2k, with top performing agents at $7k+.

Primary Accountabilities


Quotes and sells insurance products to new and current customer.
Advises prospects on appropriate insurance coverage and options relative to prospect circumstances and meeting the needs of the customer.
Runs reports from various systems to verify accuracy of information provided by potential insured regarding insurance and driving history.
Explains coverage and payment options to the customer.
Responsible for outbound follow up on unsold internet leads which may have a likelihood of purchasing.
Services existing customer policies as required including policy changes when customer service is not available.
Follows up on underwriting department requests to ensure policy underwriting adherence and improve retention.
Attends sales meetings, seminars or educational activities to stay current with market trends, regulations and maintain state licensing.

Possesses a thorough understanding of company guidelines with the ability to communicate those guidelines to customers and other employees.
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to multi-task with speed and accuracy.

Travel Requirements
Up to 10%.
